Team Bond News March 8, 2013

Here is a post that Mrs. Bond and Mikailah created.

This week in Team Bond was great! We enjoyed a reward time with DI challenges. One of the activities included trying to make our own 12 inch bridge across 2 chairs. 2 girls did a exciting bridge with 20 straws 2 envelopes and tape. We also have studied our rocks and minerals. The class has learned some new science words like... cleavage, luster, metamorphic, igneous, and sedimentary. In math we have been learning about fractions. We learned about improper fractions and mixed numbers today. The class enjoyed playing Equivalent Fraction Bingo on www.abcya.com. We even used the MOBI (Interactive Whiteboard) to take turns playing.

In Literacy we did our book reports and have worked on our state reports. We learned ways to remember how to revise and edit our writing. (ARMS and CUPS) A few students shared their nonfiction book reports that were due today. Jaylin wrote about dogs. Here is one fact she said, “Dogs are colorblind.” Some students did not turn in their reports. They have until Monday to turn it in, or they will stay in for recess to complete it. We will get a new book report to complete on Monday.

Today we used the iPad cart in class. We were able to draw fractions on Infuse Learning. We also shared facts about our week on Todays Meet. You can check out our feed at www.todaysmeet.com/teambond. Maybe our parents can make comments on our learning and ask questions! It would be neat to respond to them!

March is Reading Month: Make sure to fill out the Reading Around Michigan form that Mr. Hester gave out.  In addition, No TV Week forms are due on Monday.
